There are many groups that help behind the scenes that help keep the Bands running smoothly and provide support throughout the whole year. These groups in particular donate their time and resources to ensure the success of our program.

UC Band Alumni Association
The University of Cincinnati Band Alumni Association is an organization which serves not only the alumni of the UC Bands, but also the current students. You might see the Alumni Association members participating at Homecoming each year or at the myriad of home basketball games when the undergraduate band is unable to supply a full band due to their busy schedule. The UCBAA is joined by members all across the history of the UC Bands. Alumni, young and old, join together to achieve the goals of improving the UC Bands.
The Drum Major Society was founded in 2007 after the tragic passing of Julie Ann Benken, former Drum Major and Staff member volunteering with the University of Cincinnati. With a collaborative effort between the Department of Bands and the Benken family, it was decided a venue be created to preserve the legacy of Julie’s spirit as well as a formal recognition Society for members of the band who served in this capacity. Drum Major Nick DelleCave founded the Society and created a few official leadership positions within the organization to work to seek out Alumni Drum Majors and host a reunion celebration to recognize all those who served as Drum Majors.

Over the years the Society has grown in both numbers and organization and was recognized as a support organization to the Department of Bands at local institutions in 2011. As the Society nears it’s 6th year in operation, many exciting changes and efforts are being undertaken to solidify its standing in the community and within any band family.
We provide exceptional service to collegiate bands and promote equality and diversity, including empowering women in the band profession. We cultivate leadership, educational achievement, music appreciation and community development.
"Through our engagement with students, they progress academically, discover their values, develop their identity, and realize their full potential."
