The Office of Bearcat Bands is excited to introduce the 2017-2018 Feature Twirlers. Auditions for the Feature Twirler positions are held on an annual basis. This past April, the Bearcat Bands selected three outstanding women for the positions. These women have not only excelled in the classroom but also in the sport of baton twirling.

Angela Lawrence:

A 5th year member of the Bearcat Bands, Angela has been a competitive baton twirler since the age of 9. She has won numerous national, state, and regional titles both in solo twirling and team. Angela is a Nursing Student at UC and anticipates graduating in the spring semester of 2018. Upon graduation, she hopes to start her nursing career in a hospital and continue her education to become a Nurse Practitioner.

Suzy Carter:

A 4th year member of the Bearcat Bands, Suzy has been a competitive baton twirler since the age of 7. Baton Twirler has brought her many amazing opportunities to compete and preform around the US. Suzy is a Nursing Student at UC and anticipates graduating in the spring semester of 2018. Upon graduation, she hopes to continue her education to become a Nurse Anesthetist.

Anita Ney:

A 1st year student at UC and member of the Bearcat Bands, Anita has been a competitive baton twirler since the age of 9 competing in both solo and team and she has won multiple national, state, and regional titles. Anita is a member of Team USA and will be competing with her team in Croatia this August. She is a pre-professional student in the Allied Health Sciences at UC and plans to attend medical school after completion of her undergraduate program.

The Bearcat Bands season starts with Leaders Camp from August 7-8, Rookie Day on August 9, and Band Camp for all members from August 10-17 with our first preseason performance on August 17 in the outfield of Marge Schott Baseball Stadium at 7 PM. Don’t forget to arrive early to all of the UC Bearcats home football games to watch the UC Band enter Nippert Stadium with our signature “Charge” down the stadium steps!

The Feature Twirlers are advised and instructed by Katie Hart, UC and Feature Twirler Alumna. Katie can be reached by email at < hartkh14@gmail.com > with any questions regarding the Feature Twirler program of the Bearcat Bands.
