Welcome Dr. Mulcahy!

The Bearcat Bands are incredibly proud and excited to introduce our new Assistant Director, Dr. Krista Mulcahy!

On starting her time at UC she said, “I am thrilled to join the University of Cincinnati Bearcat Band staff.  The enthusiasm shown by the directors and students is infectious.  I look forward to working with Mr. Nichter, Mr. Angelis, Mr. Peterson, and all the fine band students that make up the University of Cincinnati Bearcat Bands.  I am honored to be a part of this great organization. Prior to her appointment at the University of Cincinnati, Dr. Mulcahy was an Instructor of Music Education at the Burris Laboratory School at Ball State University where she taught elementary and secondary band courses, jazz band, pep band, music theory, and general music. In addition, Dr. Mulcahy supervised collegiate music education practicum students.

Dr. Mulcahy also previously held the position of Assistant Professor of Music and Director of Instrumental Studies at Charleston Southern University in Charleston, South Carolina.  For eight years, she taught concert bands, athletic bands, and a variety of instrumental music education courses.

A native of Dalton, Georgia, Dr. Mulcahy taught public school for seven years in the Atlanta, Georgia area (Cobb and DeKalb Counties) where she taught middle and high school band, including jazz band and marching band. Dr. Mulcahy holds a BME from Jacksonville State University (AL), an MM in Music Education from Louisiana State University, and a DMA from Boston University.
